In 2001, by order of the Higher Attestation Commission
of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation the Dissertation Council
─ 003.008.01 for Doctorate degree on specialties: 25.00.27 - land hydrology,
water resources, hydrochemistry (physical and mathematical sciences) and
25.00.36 - geoecology (geographical and technical sciences) was established at
Since 2011, the Council resumed its work on the training
the researchers and defending the Ph.D. and doctors theses in accordance with a
new nomenclature of scientific specialties:
25.00.27 - land hydrology,
water resources, hydrochemistry (technical sciences) and 25.00.36 - geoecology
(Earth sciences) (geographical sciences).
For entire period of the Dissertation Council functioning (2001 to 2016), 75 theses were successfully defended
including 12 doctors and 63 Ph.D. ones; among them 17 were on specialty
25.00.27, 56 - 25.00.36 and two doctors theses were defended simultaneously on
two specialties. The largest number of meetings on thesis defense took place in
2007 (11) and 2013 (9). Fifty researchers defended their PhD and doctoral theses
under the age of 35.
Most of the doctoral students were from the cities of
Barnaul (32), Novosibirsk (6), Kemerovo (5), Orenburg (4), and Tomsk (4) as
well as from Mongolia and Kazakhstan.
The permanent Chairman
of the Dissertation Council is Prof. Yu. I. Vinokurov. Before 2013, Dr. I. N.
Rotanova served as a Scientific Secretary, and since 2013, this position is
held by Dr. I. D. Rybkina.
